Yes! (also known as Praying Like Mad)

When we left Tennessee, we left a house that had not yet sold along with the business that we had to close down.  We paid on the house as long as we could but finally had to tell the bank that we could not pay on it any longer and the house went into foreclosure.  It's been sitting empty since May of last year and we've been dealing with the bank on foreclosure and potential short-sell issues.  We've had people looking at the house, we've gotten great feedback on it, but nobody had made an offer.

Just got off the phone with the Spousal Unit who had gotten a call from the realtor.  We have an offer on the house for very close to what we were asking.  It's the first offer we've had since the house went up for sale last year.  This would leave us only a minimal amount the bank would need to hand wave away as a short-sell.  If they approve it, the bank would get money, there would be no foreclosure, and there would be people in the house paying the bank on a new mortgage.  Both sets of realtors are writing up offers to submit to the bank.

We're praying.  If anyone else wants to join in, feel free.  The more, the merrier :).  Even in the midst of the desert of these past couple years, God has been doing some amazing things in the lives of the Cyber Hermit and the Spousal Unit.  Sometimes it's been in hindsight and sometimes it's been right under our noses but He's been faithful and will continue to be.

  1. I short sold my house last year...it was a very harrowing experience. It felt SO good to get that monkey off of my back. I am so happy for you.

  2. Thank you! Our realtor in TN just e-mailed us the offer and assorted paperwork. Now we are trying to be patient...this may require some chocolate.
