Project 365 - Week Eight (February 13-19, 2011)

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

I seemed to be greatly food-oriented this week

Sunday

I was the sub for dinner in our Life Group tonight.  I made Chocolate Stout Chili and a new bread recipe - Confetti Fiesta bread.  It looked like the picture in the magazine (whew!) and from all accounts, it seemed to go over pretty well.

Monday

For your pixelated pleasure :).  This week, I started the last round of Proving This Medication Doesn't Work.  Unfortunately, that means taking the maximum dose and dealing with the maximum side effects which include (but are not limited to) nausea, fatigue, somnolence, numbness, and painful, sharp tingling in my hands and feet.  I mean, really, if I'm going to have Spidey sense, can't I at least shoot nifty webs or something?

Tuesday

My newest granddaughter, Emery, modeling what my daughter calls "the latest in baby old man pants" :).

Wednesday

What I made for dinner tonight:  Adobo Beef Tacos with Pickled Onions and Queso Fresco.

Thursday

Another dinner post :).  Chicken Drumettes with Momofuku Vinaigrette.  Recipe on blog.

Friday

My dad would have been 72 today.

Saturday

This is an avatar-like thing I've had on my desk for several years.  Today, she is supposed to be encouraging me to work on the story residing on my jump drive.  What you can't see is she is actually glaring at me because instead of the story, I currently have a game of Farmscape open on my computer.

Avoidance tendencies.  I has them :P.

Boy that bread looks REALLY good - yum!

My husband is supposed to be working on a book manuscript (his dissertation is being published at some point), but he seems to play a lot of farmville instead. Heh.

  5. I would like the chocolate chili recipe. I copied the chicken one. They both sound delish. I can't wait to try them out on cherished hubby. :-) Love the picture of your dad. My dad would have been 85 on April 14th of this year. He died in 2009. I miss him terribly. I am sorry you lost yours too.-

  7. I'm another who'd like the chocolate stout chili recipe! I'm always on the lookout for another chili recipe :)
I'm another with avoidance tendencies :) I've had all week to get some paperwork done and I haven't even started. Instead I've played with fabric all week. I know the day of reckoning is coming though. It's this week OR ELSE. lol
The recipe for the chicken dish sounds good, but I can't get some of the ingredients. I'll put it in my "to try" file for when we're stateside later this year.
Hope you don't have to be on the Spidey-inducing meds too long :(

  8. Avoidance tendencies, LOL, I've got that too! Good thing Kim Possible is there to uh, let you know you could be doing better. :)

Old man pants, that's a first. But I agree that is what they kinda look like. Your granddaughter is adorable!

  13. Oh the things we avoid to play on our virtual farms...love mine though, it is just makes me smile.....

so very sorry about your side effect and the meds that are causing the problem. It is so difficult when you can't get the Doctors to hear you. I hope you can get your issues straightened out very soon!

Wonderful food shots. Very tasty, that stout chili sounded good! and the bread looked amazing!

    Blessings

  14. You must be the world's greatest cook, by the looks and sounds of those fancy recipes! (I'm only a Koch (pronounced 'cook') by marriage ;)
I was also impressed by the books on your shelf!
I noticed Philip Yancey's Prayer as a favorite. Haven't read that.
    Grandbaby E is so sweet.
Now I'm feeling somewhat chided...What projects am I avoiding today?
